NEW YORK-BASED SYNTHPOP GROUP DIAMOND FIELD RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BELINDA”
RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 14, 2024
Based in and regularly performing throughout New York City, Diamond Field channels their favorite sounds of the 80s into new music for the 21st Century.
Their latest track, “Belinda,” features vocalist Jenny Bates and saxophonist Nathan Haines and releases on November 14 on all digital music platforms. The release date coincides with Diamond Field's monthly live music social event, "Risky Business" at Danger Danger, hosted with frequent collaborator, Bunny X.
ABOUT THE "BELINDA”: "Belinda" captures the sound of the mid-1980s FM radio with mid-tempo ballad about yearning and lost love. Featuring lush synths, clean 80s electric guitars, powerful vocals from Jenny Bates and a soprano sax solo by Nathan Haines, "Belinda" gives all the feels you'd get from the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie.
ABOUT THE DIAMOND FIELD: Diamond Field is musician/producer Andy Diamond and vocalist Jenny Bates.
Producer Andy Diamond works with different vocalists to create a compendium of tracks that work together, kind of like a compilation album but from one single artist.
In July 2021, Diamond Field released their debut self-titled album that was hailed as “what has to be part of your summer soundtrack” by Echosynthetic.com and that it “sounds like it could have been ripped from a soundtrack from one of the classic 80’s John Hughes movies” by MP3 Hugger. The eponymous album features vocals from Nina Luna, Matthew J. Ruys, Miriam Clancy, Nik Brinkman, Cody Carpenter, Becca Starr, Belinda Bradley, Chelsea Nenni, Kyle Brauch along with appearance from The Saxophone Warrior and Rodger Cunningham.
Diamond Field has also worked and received instrumental, extended and remixes from the likes of Sunglasses Kid, Phantom Ride, Dream Fiend, Vincenzo Salvia, Von Hertzog, Furniteur, Saint-Samuel, Morgan Willis, VHS Dreams, Circuit Work, Le Flex and more.
Since 2014, Diamond Field has released a number of singles and an album, working with different vocalists. To create a live performance experience, Diamond called upon rock band, Beckerton’s lead singer, Jenny Bates to take the mic. Since June 2022, Bates has been the front vocalist for all of Diamond Field’s live performances throughout NYC. Together as Diamond Field, the band toured with The Motion Epic in August 2023, and regularly appears with synthwave favorites, Bunny X.
“Belinda” the duo’s second release together following their 2023 cover of New Order’s “Temptation.”
Diamond Field and Bunny X currently host “Risky Business” – a 21st Century 80s Social monthly night at Danger Danger in Brooklyn complete with live music performances and DJ sets.
